How to Play Crash: Rules, Auto Cashout and Your First Session

Crash in five minutes: how a round works, what the multiplier means, how auto cashout saves you from lag, and a step-by-step first session on a demo lobby before you deposit.

Crash is the simplest casino game ever designed and the easiest to play badly. Here is everything you need before your first real round, in the order you will meet it.

How a crash round works

  1. A betting window opens (usually 5–10 seconds). You enter a stake and, optionally, an auto-cashout multiplier.
  2. The round starts at 1.00x and the multiplier climbs along a curve — slowly at first, then faster.
  3. At a secret, predetermined point the multiplier crashes. If you cashed out before that, you win stake × multiplier. If not, you lose the stake.

That’s the whole game. The crash point is decided before the round starts (see provably fair), so nothing you do during the round changes it — you are only choosing when to leave.

What the multiplier actually means

The multiplier is your payout if you cash out now. 1.50x on a $10 bet returns $15 ($5 profit). The probability a round reaches any multiplier is roughly (1 − edge) / multiplier: at a 1% edge, 2x happens 49.5% of the time, 10x about 9.9%, 100x about 1%. Our predictor tool shows the full table.

Auto cashout: use it

Auto cashout tells the server to cash you out the instant the multiplier hits your number. It removes three problems at once: your reaction time, your internet latency, and your greed. Manual cashout is for people who enjoy watching 1.98x become a bust at 1.99x. Set auto cashout for every round until you have a specific reason not to.

Bet sizing

Decide a session bankroll you are fine losing. Bet 1–2% of it per round. At 1.5x auto-cashout that gives you hundreds of rounds of play even on a bad night; at 10x you need the smaller end because losing streaks of 20+ are normal.

Your first session, step by step

Open a demo lobby. Roobet lets you play for free with any bet under $0.01; Rainbet has fun mode on Aviator; or use our simulator.
Set stake = 1% of bankroll, auto cashout = 1.5x. Play 50 rounds without touching anything.
Now try 3x for 50 rounds. Notice how the losing streaks feel. That feeling is the whole game.
Deposit a small amount, claim a bonus that counts crash wagering (see our table), repeat step 2 with real money.

Mistakes new players make

  • Chasing after a loss. The next round has no memory of the last one.
  • Reading the history bar. Five reds in a row does not make green “due”.
  • Cancelling auto cashout mid-round because “it looks like it’s going to run”. It does not look like anything.
  • Clearing a bonus at 10x. You will bust the bonus balance long before you clear it.
  • Playing a 4% edge game when a 1% one is a click away.
